The truck, driven by Neil Jones, 66, of Brandon was headed north on 56th Street around 10 a.m. The HART bus, driven by Herbert Jennings, 42, of Tampa, was headed west at the exit of Netpark 1,000 feet south of Cone Road.
The truck had a red light, a report says. The bus had the green.
The truck struck the left front tire and the side of the bus, the report says. The crash left no skid marks.
FHP said both drivers and a bus passenger, Carolyn Strong, 44, of Tampa, were seriously injured, the report says. Ten additional passengers sustained minor injuries.
According to the report, 10 passengers were taken to University Community, St. Joseph's and Tampa General hospitals.
Ten bus passengers, all from Tampa, were treated for minor injuries. Those include: Carlton Brown, 60; Felica Jackson, 40; Clarence Bean, 55; Sarah Narchman, 50; Julie Gonzales, 36; Ernest Rumph Jr, 63; Barbara Jackson, 40; Chrisholm Taquisha, 31; Erne Luclens, 55; Bill Coombs, 51.
Nelson Harris, 61, also from Tampa, was on the bus but not injured, FHP said.
Jones was cited for violating the red light, troopers said. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.
