88-year-old pedestrian killed in Palm Harbor car crash

PALM HARBOR — An 88-year-old woman died Wednesday after she was struck by a car on her morning walk, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred about 7:40 a.m. as Cruz Magdalenna Gallego of Palm Harbor was walking south on Sumner Lane near Sumner Way.

A 2010 Hyundai Veracruz, eastbound on Sumner Way, turned left onto Sumner Lane and struck Gallego, the FHP said.

No charges have been filed against the driver, Kenneth Allen Ramsdell, 60, of Palm Harbor.

Gallego died about 7 p.m. at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson.
