All southbound lanes on the Howard Frankland Bridge have been reopened after a pickup truck caught fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters responded about 7:30 a.m. to reports of a car fire on southbound Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County leading into St. Petersburg, according to Florida 511

The driver escaped injury, according to broadcast reports, but the cause of the fire was unclear.
