FHP locates pick-up truck linked to fatal Polk hit-and-run

PLANT CITY The Florida Highway Patrol said it has found the truck involved in a fatal May 3 hit-and-run crash in Polk County.

Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, troopers said they were able to find the white 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck believed to have struck a man walking along westbound Interstate 4, west of U.S. 98.

The truck was found at a home at 6339 Red Hawk Lane in Plant City, troopers said.

The pedestrian who was killed was identified as McKenzie Jordan Messick, 22, of Plant City. The FHP said the investigation is still ongoing.
