SEFFNER — A 34-year-old passenger was killed Sunday night when the pick-up truck he was riding in lost control and rolled over on Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at 7:45 p.m. The 2007 Ford F-150 pick-up was being driven by Seth David, 33, and headed westbound on I-4 east of Mango Road in the outside lane. Troopers said he tried to move into the center lane.
But he saw another vehicle already in the lane, the FHP said, David over-corrected and lost control. The pick-up drove onto the outside shoulder then overturned multiple times, crashing into a fence and then a light post in the parking lot of Gator Ford, troopers said.
Steven Driggers, 34, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the passenger seat of the F-150. The Plant City resident was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
David was also not wearing his seatbelt. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, troopers said. Charges may be pending in this crash, according to the FHP report.
