Accident on I-75 in Pasco shuts down northbound lanes

SAN ANTONIO — Northbound lanes on Interstate 75 were blocked Monday afternoon after a multivehicle accident involving a truck towing a horse trailer.

That accident happened just south of exit 285 for State Road 52. The inside lane headed southbound was also blocked. Crews cleared the accident scene by 10:35 p.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers said a conversion truck pulling a horse trailer had a tire blowout. The driver lost control of the truck, which struck a sport utility vehicle that overturned.

A father and young son were in the truck; the SUV was carrying a mother and young son. All were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, troopers said.
