Authorities were investigating an alcohol-related boating accident Friday at Fort De Soto Park, which sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries.
A 20-foot Mako boat carrying five men crashed into a green navigational marker about 6 p.m. in the area of Bunces Pass, according to Baryl Martin, spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
One of the men on board was seriously injured and taken to Bayfront Medical Center, Martin said. He was in critical condition late Friday, officials said. Officials did not release his name.
FWC officers seized the boat and the channel marker. They remained at the scene investigating late Friday night.
