TAMPA — Police arrested a food service worker Saturday who they say allowed his 12-year-old son to chauffeur him around in his sport-utility vehicle while he sat drunk in the passenger seat.

Adrian Kegler, 32, of 1608 E Osborne Ave. was in the passenger seat of a 1995 GMC Yukon when his son, Adrian Kegler Jr., tried to turn the SUV left from Linebaugh Avenue onto N 11th Street and hit another car, according to a Tampa Police report.

The other driver was 8 months pregnant and asked to be taken to a hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported and both vehicles received minor damage.

Kegler has been charged with culpable negligence with actual injury, permitting an unauthorized person to drive and child neglect. He was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on $8,250 bail.
