TAMPA — A 45-year-old man from Tampa died late Sunday night after he was hit by a car on N Nebraska Avenue. The man, whose name has not been released, was lying in the curb lane of Nebraska before he was hit, according to Tampa Police.

It happened at almost midnight when 19-year-old Ignacio Giglio-Hizmeri was driving his 1994 Honda south on Nebraska near E 109th Avenue.

Police said Giglio-Hizermi didn't see the man lying in the street. A witness told police that the man appeared intoxicated and was falling down in the roadway before the crash.

After he was struck, the man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he died.

Giglio-Hizermi was not injured. No charges have been filed.
