CLEARWATER — Brooke Bollea, daughter of famous wrestler Hulk Hogan, was involved in a car accident on the Bayside Bridge Sunday afternoon.

The accident comes just weeks after Brooke Bollea's brother, Nick Bollea, was sentenced to eight months in jail on a felony reckless driving charge.

Nick Bollea, 17, lost control of his Toyota Supra in Clearwater on Aug. 26 and smashed into a palm tree, critically injuring his friend John Graziano.

No one was injured in the Sunday crash, which occurred just before 4 p.m.

Brooke Bollea, 20, and passenger Laura Chadwell, 23, were hit by Ronald Gallmon, 19, of Brandon, when he lost control of his vehicle while trying to switch lanes, according to a report released late Sunday by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Bollea and Gallmon were both traveling north — Bollea in the center lane in a 2008 Mercedes and Gallmon in the right lane in a 1997 Toyota.

The report says Gallmon lost control when he tried to change lanes to the left. His car began to turn counterclockwise and ended up in the left lane, in front of Bollea's car.

The impact pushed Bollea's car into the left concrete barrier wall. Gallmon's car also hit the left barrier, crossed both lanes of travel and stopped on the right shoulder.

Each car sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages, the report said.

Gallmon had a 17-year-old passenger in his car, Megan Wright.

Witnesses said Gallmon was speeding, according to the FHP report. No charges were filed but the FHP continues to investigate.

Troopers temporarily closed at least one northbound lane, but traffic was flowing smoothly by 5:30 p.m.

Linda Bollea and her husband, Terry Bollea, who is well-known by his wrestling name Hulk Hogan, both came to the accident scene.

Brooke Bollea could not be reached for comment Sunday. But Linda Bollea, reached at the family's Belleair home shortly before 6 p.m., acknowledged there was an accident and said no one was injured in the crash.

Brooke Bollea's singing career was often the focus of her family's VH1 reality series, Hogan Knows Best, which began airing in 2005.

I cannot believe what the St. Pete Times has reduced itself to. Keep telling yourselves you're doing a great job. Ever heard of self-delusion?
by kay May 27, 2008 2:33 PM
It this were Jane Doe we would not have even heard about it. Could it be the Times reporters are not allowed to cover real news?
by Mel May 27, 2008 1:49 PM
Maybe people should think about what they write. That's what is wrong with Our United States Of America! To many Mean people who don't care about others.I and others will PRAY for all you people who wish bad things on the Bollea's family.GOD BLESS!!!
by Meloney May 27, 2008 1:49 PM
Everyone has an opinion ! I must agree with Paul & Rick ,Ignorance get's you nowhere Our men and women are out there fighting for FREEDOM and you people are pashing Brooke who could have died it wasn't her fault. That's real SAD.Rethink what you Post!

by Beth May 27, 2008 1:48 PM

by Simon May 27, 2008 1:48 PM
In the last two years, the Times has really gone down hill. What an embarassment this paper has become. Right up there with the National Enquirer. Let's read some real news.
by Brutus the Sledgehammer May 27, 2008 1:48 PM
I wish the Bollea's would stay in the ring and off the roads.
by duh May 27, 2008 1:48 PM
So how come this isnt headline material? i mean if the Times were truly an up standing honorable paper this would recieve the same billing as nicks ordeal. but since Brooke wasnt at fault i guess its only worth a bottom of the page write up. how sad.
by jj May 27, 2008 1:48 PM
well this was not her fault.but thee should be more careful.... this is not a top storie y do we care
by candi May 27, 2008 1:47 PM
maybe this isnt headline #1..nor should it be...but ya all know you LUV to read about this stuff so get over it...dont look if ya dont want to read it! duh!! this however has nothing to do w/ nick so shame on you news story dummies..

Keep abortion safe and legal!
by Mike May 27, 2008 10:34 AM
Echo Leigh's comments. As a former Old NE St Pete resident, I once took pride in my local paper... as Leigh stated Nelson Poynter would be sad. Hell, Eugene Patterson must be throwing up. I respect that man. He couldn't like this paper now.
by Laura May 27, 2008 10:27 AM
I have to second Rick about the negativity of the comments here and elsewhere on the web. People miss the point of the article which is that accidents do happen, even to celebrities, and are not always their fault or even anyone's fault. Grow up!
by davod May 27, 2008 10:10 AM
wah wah wah what a waste of news space you should be ashamed of yourself wah wah wah, but you all keep reading and posting dont you!!!
by stef May 27, 2008 10:10 AM
Is this publicity or wut....
by mike May 27, 2008 10:10 AM
The Times ought to look into the TMZ story and hear what little Nick has to say to his Daddy during a jail visit about that poor marine. now that's a story.
by LSB May 27, 2008 10:10 AM
Don't know thw family, glad she's ok. I did notice dad's been there after kids have accidents. Seems like a great dad! This isn't newsworthy though, com' on Times what's your deal?
by SUSAN May 27, 2008 10:09 AM
MANY OF THESE COMMENTS ARE FILLED WITH JEALOUSY AND IGNORANCE!!!! GOOD LUCK TO THE BOLLEA/HOGAN FAMILY!!
by Jake May 27, 2008 10:09 AM
My family grew up with the Bollea's and its a shame that the only reason people talk about them is for thier accidents. Get a life people!!! Remeber that you were once a kid too... did you ever speed? She wasn't even speeding and it wasn't her fault!
by Brian May 27, 2008 10:04 AM
Who cares about the Bollea's?!?!? Cover some real freakin' news!
by lou May 27, 2008 6:57 AM
Why can't the media leave the Hulkster and his lovely family alone. For crying out loud, his son has to stay in a room 1/2 the size of his bathroom at home. sptimes, shame on you. Leave the do ragged man and his family to be. Oh, I still have 7 chara
by Denise May 26, 2008 5:38 PM
I wish that the Bollea family would move out of state...they are a joke! Terry and Linda are poor excuses as parents...they are more interested in trying to be their kid's friends instead of acting like responsible adults. PLEASE MOVE TO CALIFORNIA!
by Leigh May 26, 2008 4:14 PM
Just when I thought the once great Times could not self-destruct fast enough you stun me yet again. How is this 1-A news? That whirring sound is Nelson Poynter spinning in his grave. Shame on all of you execs. for what you've done to this newspaper.
by voxy May 26, 2008 4:12 PM
wow for a divorcing couple they sure spend a LOT of time together and 'at the family home'. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
by bill May 26, 2008 12:53 PM
Put this under human interest and shorten it up, but not deserving of this much space. It's a shame it's all come to this cause I remember years ago when the kids were young that everyone was more down to earth and very nice people.
by Nick May 26, 2008 12:22 PM
And this magazine goes downhill even more. I guess I shouldn't be surprised after looking at these comments and the trash readers you have
by Rick May 26, 2008 12:21 PM
You people make me sick. In order to make you feel better about your pathetic little lives, you have to run down other people. I've never heard such mean and inapropriate things.
by Rick May 26, 2008 12:16 PM
I have not served 18 years as a soldier to protect our way of life to see this is what freedom of speech has boiled down to. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
by paul May 26, 2008 11:50 AM
Who gives a rats butt about this bunch of idiots. They may have money but they are losers.
by paul May 26, 2008 11:49 AM
Well at least she did not put someone in the hospital in a coma for life. I guess its good news!!!!!!!! Who cares???
by me May 26, 2008 11:23 AM
Thank goodness this wasnt the main headline on this website. I so so tired of this family. They are a constant embarrassment to Pinellas county.
by Frank May 26, 2008 11:07 AM
Thanks. Please keep us posted on this and all other useless trivia you can dig up on this group of worthless clowns.
by john May 26, 2008 10:58 AM

by Aaron May 26, 2008 10:31 AM
I'm glad everyone is alright, Don't hate the Bollea's just because. Terry has worked hard and earned his position in life.. Also he has been at both accidents. GREAT DAD... Go Hulk... Live love and laugh. You only live once.
