DOVER — At least one person was killed when a vehicle crashed and caught fire Tuesday on Interstate 4 east of McIntosh Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident apparently happened when a semitrailer truck pulling back into the eastbound lanes after changing a tire was hit from behind by a minivan carrying paint supplies.

State troopers were called to the scene around 9:45 a.m. and found the minivan on fire. The dead accident victim had been in the minivan.

All eastbound lanes were closed and traffic was diverted onto McIntosh for several hours.

No other information was immediately available. An investigation is under way.
