RIVERVIEW — Authorities released the name Tuesday of a 77-year-old woman who died after she was hit and killed Monday afternoon while crossing U.S. 301 in Riverview.
Luciene Marie Joseph Fethere of Riverview was walking in a crosswalk just after 3 p.m., heading east on Lake St. Charles Boulevard at the intersection of U.S. 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. At the same time, Sidnee A. Young, 26, of Tampa was driving a Ford E-350 van with five passengers west on Lake St. Charles Boulevard.
Young did not see Fethere crossing the street and ran into her, authorities said. Fethere was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where she died. No one in the van was injured.
The crash remained under investigation.
