Authorities release name of woman killed in Hernando crash Saturday

SPRING HILL — Authorities have released the name of a woman who died in a single-car crash on State Road 50 early Saturday morning.

Laurie Pinson, 45, of New Port Richey was driving a 2004 Nissan Frontier east on SR 50, west of U.S. 19, just before 7 a.m. when her car veered onto the shoulder, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The driver over-corrected and the car spun clockwise, overturned and hit a tree.

Pinson died at the scene.
