Bicyclist seriously injured in Pasco hit-and-run

NEW PORT RICHEY — Authorities are looking for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a bicyclist about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Bryan Joseph Mosby, 27, was riding south on the left lane of Little Road, south of Rancho del Rio Drive, when a car hit him from behind at a high rate of speed, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The car sped away. Mosby did not have a light on his clothing or bicycle, FHP said.

Witnesses later reported seeing the car in the garden center parking lot of Walmart at Little Road and State Road 54. The vehicle, a silver or gray newer model two-door passenger car, had extensive windshield and front-end damage, witnesses told FHP.

The driver was described as a white woman in her late 20s with brown hair and wearing blue jeans and a tan shirt. She drove to the Hess gas station just east of Walmart, where she picked up a man and drove away.

Mosby of Port Richey was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with serious injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact trooper Evans with the Florida Highway Patrol at (813) 631-4020.
