Bloomingdale High students taken to hospital after school bus crash

VALRICO — About a dozen Bloomingdale High students were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a traffic crash involving two school buses, fire rescue said.

The crash was reported about 12 p.m. at Bell Shoals Road and Bloomingdale Avenue, said Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Jessica Damico.

The buses were stopped at the intersection when one rear-ended the other, officials said.

The students were taken to Brandon Regional Hospital with what appeared to be minor neck and back pain, Damico said.
