CLEARWATER — A 2-year-old boy was listed in critical condition Monday one day after falling from an ATV driven by his father, police said.

The boy was sitting in front of his father, Brandon R. Jerrido, 26, on the ATV in a parking lot at 1201 Douglas Ave. on Sunday night when he fell.

Neither was wearing safety gear, Clearwater public safety spokesman Rob Shaw said.

The boy remained in the pediatric intensive care unit at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg on Monday.

The boy's name has not been released. The Florida Department of Children and Families has been notified of the incident, Shaw said.
