A young teenager remained in critical, but stable condition Saturday after he rode his bicycle into the path of a pickup truck on U.S. 19 in Port Richey.
Around 11 a.m., the boy, 13-year-old Robert L. Munson of Port Richey, was riding west on Ranch Road with several other young bicyclists when he veered into traffic on U.S. 19. A 17-year-old driving a Ford F-250 was unable to avoid the collision, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The Tampa Bay Times is not identifying the driver because he is a minor.
Munson was taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
The crash remains under investigation.
