Brandon chiropractor's office evacuated after car crashes into building

BRANDON — Deputies evacuated a chiropractor's office after a car flipped and crashed into the building Thursday morning.

A 2004 Mitsubishi driven by 75-year-old Kathryn G. Byrd of Valrico was eastbound on State Road 60 when a 1998 Grand Marquis turned into her path, deputies said.

Ruth Conner, 93, of Brandon was turning left onto Moon Avenue when she turned in front of Byrd's car, deputies said.

Byrd swerved, veered off the road, hit a vehicle parked outside the Isbell Chiropractic Center, 257 W Brandon Blvd., and crashed into the building.

Conner was cited with failure to yield, deputies said.

No one was injured, but the office was evacuated Thursday morning because of concerns about its structural stability.
