NOBLETON — A 56-year-old Brooksville man died Tuesday evening after a collision between his motorcycle and a pickup just east of the Hernando-Sumter county line.
Robert M. Reihsmann died about 6:15 p.m. at Tampa General Hospital.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Reihsmann was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on County Road 476, near the intersection with County Road 647, about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday when an eastbound Ford F-250 pickup driven by David J. Hicks, 20, of Bushnell attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of a Circle K store.
The vehicles collided and Reihsmann was thrown from his motorcycle.
Hicks, who was not injured, was cited by the FHP for making a left turn in front of approaching traffic, driving without insurance and failing to properly register his vehicle. Authorities said alcohol was not a factor in the wreck.
