Construction worker killed on Selmon Expressway

TAMPA — A construction worker on the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway died early Saturday morning after he was hit by a dump truck, Tampa police said.

Michael Pavlak, of Trinity, was working in a construction area of the expressway just west of 50th Street at about 4:44 a.m. when he was struck, police said. Pavlak was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police have classified his death as an accident.
