Crash into power pole causes closure at Madeira Beach intersection

MADEIRA BEACH — Gulf Boulevard at 164th Avenue has been shut down after a car crashed into a power pole at the intersection around noon.

No one was injured, but the impact was so strong it caused the transformer atop the pole to lean into the street.

Deputies are recommending that drivers use alternate routes such as Park Boulevard on the north side and 150th Avenue on the south side.
