Crash kills Pinellas Park motorcyclist

ST. PETERSBURG — A motorcyclist from Pinellas Park was killed Sunday morning when his cycle and an oncoming car making a turn collided, police said.

The motorist, Celia Worley Ducharme, 77, was driving a Honda north on 34th Street S and attempting to turn left onto 22nd Avenue.

At the same time, a Harley Davidson cycle driven by Dominick Devivo, 69, was going south on 34th Street, along with another cyclist.

Ducharme, who told police she did not see the two cyclists at first, started her turn. While one cyclist split off and went to the rear of the car, the one driven by Devivo collided with the front of the car, police said.

Devivo was pronounced dead at the scene. Ducharme, of St. Petersburg, suffered minor injures and was taken to Bayfront Medical Center.

Police said no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
