Crash kills Tampa motorcyclist

TAMPA — A man died Monday afternoon after his motorcycle hit a pickup truck on Busch Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mark Graves, 43, was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson west on Busch Boulevard near Arrawana Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. as George Gunter, 74, was driving his 2006 Ford truck east.

Gunter made a left turn but failed to yield to Graves, the patrol said. Graves attempted to avoid crashing by hitting the brakes, but still struck the passenger side of Gunter's truck, the crash report said.

Graves, of Tampa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The report said he was not wearing a helmet. Gunter, also of Tampa, was not injured.

The incident is still under investigation.
