CLEARWATER — A crossing guard suffered non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The crossing guard, who was not identified, was working in the intersection of Betty Lane and Sunset Point Road, when he was struck by a car driving west at the posted speed limit of 30 mph.
The guard, who is in his 70s, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation Tuesday, but it does not appear the driver is at fault, police said.
