Cyclist dies in Tampa after collision with truck

TAMPA — A cyclist died Friday after he was hit by a truck on N Florida Avenue.

Rudolph A Moncur, 59, was riding his bicycle south on Florida Avenue in the outside lane when he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Bird Street, according to Tampa police.

A truck was going through the intersection with a green light and hit Moncur, who was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Autopsy and toxicology results are pending. No charges are expected against the driver, police said.
