TAMPA — A 27-year-old woman was charged with driving under the influence after crashing into a police crime scene van in downtown Tampa early Friday.

About 4:30 a.m., crime scene technician Jacqueline Rojas, 43, was northbound on N Florida Avenue in the inside lane approaching E Cass Street when an Acura ran a red light and smashed into her, according to a police incident report.

Rojas was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries caused by her airbag deploying, police said.

The Acura driver, Jessica Lynn Davis, a hairstylist from Lakeland, was not injured but was arrested on DUI charges and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.

According to jail records, Davis refused to give a blood-alcohol sample. She was held on $500 bail.
