WIMAUMA — A dump truck driver died Friday when his vehicle overturned on State Road 674, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Ismael Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 58, of Wimauma, was hauling sand for J&M Paving just east of Chert Rock Trail when he lost control of his 1995 GMC dump truck, troopers said.
The truck veered right and Rodriguez-Rodriguez over-corrected, causing the truck to overturn. He was ejected out of the passenger window and the sand spilled across all lanes of travel.
A medical helicopter rushed Rodriguez-Rodriguez to Tampa General Hospital, where he died of his injuries Friday afternoon.
No charges have been filed as the investigation of the crash continues.
