ST. PETERSBURG — Traffic on northbound Interstate 275 was cleared after a crash backed up commuters for miles on the Howard Frankland Bridge early Tuesday.
Only one car was involved in the 7:05 a.m. crash, and no injuries were initially reported.
The crash blocked the center lane of the eastbound span of the bridge and cars were being funneled into one lane to circumvent the accident for about an hour.
Traffic was delayed to Roosevelt Boulevard, experts said. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes, such as the Gandy Bridge.
