FHP: 75-year-old woman dies after walking into path of truck in Tampa

TAMPA — A 75-year-old woman was killed Saturday night after authorities said she walked into the path of a pickup truck.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, who troopers did not identify pending notification of family members, was walking north at about 7:15 p.m. across State Road 574 near Coconut Palm Drive just west of Interstate 75. James A. Hrybinczak, 53, was driving a 2014 Ford F-250 west in the outside lane of the highway.

The woman, of Tampa, walked into the path of Hrybinczak's truck, troopers said. She died at the scene. Hrybinczak, of St. Petersburg, was not injured.
