The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who seriously injured a Wesley Chapel motorcyclist in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday morning.

Troopers say the driver of a white Honda sedan attempted to improperly pass traffic around 6:45 a.m. while driving northbound on Morris Bridge Road, approaching Camerton Road, in Wesley Chapel when he struck 46-year-old Philip J. Cook, who was riding northbound.

The impact caused Cook to leave the roadway, troopers said. He was thrown from the motorcycle, resulting in serious injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FHP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 (TIPS).
