SPRING HILL — Authorities have identified the 34-year-old motorcyclist killed early Sunday after he failed to make a curve and struck a tree before being hit by another driver.
Anthony Christopher Weiss, 34, of Spring Hill was driving a Yamaha R6 near Pinehurst Drive and Talbot Circle about 3 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Weiss, who was not wearing a helmet, struck a tree and was thrown onto the road.
Brendan Sean Haverty, 34, of Spring Hill was driving a pickup south on Pinehurst Drive and did not see the motorcyclist in the road, FHP said.
Haverty struck Weiss, who was declared dead at the scene, FHP said.
The crash is still under investigation, troopers said.
