NEW PORT RICHEY — A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was in the right place at the right time to catch a hit-and-run driver on Friday, according to the agency.
The trooper was investigated a crash about 4:55 p.m. at Little Road and Mango Street when the FHP said the trooper saw another crash: A 2015 Nissan Rogue crashed into the back of a 2007 Dodge Charger.
Then the driver of the Nissan, Sara Ibanez, started yelling at the other driver and then sped away from the accident scene, according to the agency.
The trooper followed the Nissan and pulled it over. Ibanez got out the vehicle, the FHP said, and started yelling at the trooper.
