TAMPA — The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a semitrailer truck that sped off from an Interstate 75 crash that left another car burning on Tuesday afternoon.

The truck, the make and model of which were unidentified, was heading north in the inside center lane of I-75 north of Fletcher Avenue around 2 p.m., the FHP said, when it changed lanes into the outside center lane.

In doing so, the truck cut into the path of a 2014 Infiniti Q50 and crashed into it.

The Infiniti, driven by Ernesto Mena Corzo, 20, of Seffner, was pushed toward the highway's right lane, forcing it to collide with another semitrailer, a 1994 Peterbilt driven by Miguel Angel Rosario, 37, of Lakeland, according to the FHP.

Both Corzo and Rosario stopped, troopers said, and then the Infiniti caught fire. The driver in the unidentified semitrailer also stopped, the FP said, got out, saw the crash scene and then drove away.

The fleeing semitrailer was described as a white cab with dark fenders pulling a silver dump trailer, troopers said. The driver was heavy-set and wearing overalls, a green reflective vest and dark pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the FHP by calling *347 or (813) 631-4020.
