FHP: Tarpon Springs man sought after crashing vehicle, abandoning passenger in Palm Harbor

PALM HARBOR — A Tarpon Springs man ran away from a crash Wednesday afternoon after losing control of his sport-utility vehicle and crashing on U.S. 19, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He also left his passenger behind.

The search is on for Reynond Anthony Sefton, 28, who fled after crashing his 1999 Toyota SUV south on U.S. 19 just before 4 p.m., troopers said.

His passenger, Annie Bell, 44, of Tarpon Springs, was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Pasco County with minor injuries, the FHP said.

Sefton was approaching slower traffic just south of Meadow Brooke Drive when troopers said he lost control of the vehicle while attempting to stop.

The SUV overturned in the middle of the roadway, troopers said, and Sefton abandoned Bell and his vehicle and fled on foot.
