A 49-year-old woman hospitalized after she was struck by a car on an Interstate 275 entrance ramp died Sunday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Just before 10 a.m. Friday, Melissa A. Dannemiller, of Lancaster, Ohio, was standing off the road where the on-ramp from Pinellas Point Drive S fed into the interstate, troopers said. Deborah Mathews Waldecker, 55, was driving a 2017 Lincoln MKZ south on the interstate in the outside lane toward the ramp.

Dannemiller walked into the path of Waldecker's car. She was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with critical injuries and pronounced dead about 1 p.m. Sunday.
