Fisherman dies after boat overturns in Town 'N County pond

TAMPA — Hillsborough County sheriff's divers found the body of a man who disappeared after his boat capsized while he went fishing in a Town 'N Country pond Tuesday night.

The small boat overturned with two men inside behind 7612 Ocean Harbor Lane around 9:45 p.m., said Deputy Larry McKinnon, a spokesman for the sheriff.

One of the men was able to swim to shore, but the other slipped under the surface. Three divers were called out and found the man's body after a 20 minute search, McKinnon said.

The men were not identified by the Sheriff's Office, which is continuing to investigate.
