Girl, 17, critically injured in Largo traffic crash

LARGO — A 17-year-old girl was critically injured early Wednesday in a traffic crash on U.S. 19, police said.

The teenager, driving a Nissan Versa, was heading south just after 4 a.m. when she lost control and the car rolled over several times near 66th Street. The girl, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car.

She was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where she was in critical condition Wednesday, Largo police said. Officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
