TAMPA — A minivan on Tuesday afternoon backed over a 1-year-old girl, who was taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries.

Tampa police said 22-month-old Solei Strong of Temple Terrace was standing on a porch at a Tampa home when the driver, Jeannetti Ford, walked out to her Chrysler minivan at 2:30 p.m.

At some point, the little girl walked behind the van, police said. Ford, 28, 3412 N 11th St., did not see her when she backed away from the home, police said.

The girl had no visible injuries and was alert and crying when taken to Tampa General Hospital.

Investigators have preliminarily ruled the incident an accident.
