Grain truck spills load, closes road in Tampa

TAMPA — Grain destined for Jacksonville spilled out of a truck onto a road early Tuesday, blocking traffic in both directions, according to police.

Police said N 30th Street between E 113th Avenue and E Fowler Avenue was closed for several hours as crews cleaned up the mess before it was reopened before 8 a.m.

The grain spilled out of the truck about 4:45 a.m.

Police said Yuengling Brewery of Tampa sent crews to scoop up the mess.

Police said they didn't know how the grain spilled, but would likely be issuing a ticket to the driver for not securing his load.
