SPRING HILL — A Hernando County sheriff's deputy on patrol struck a pedestrian on Barclay Avenue early Friday.
Deputy Brian Schneider was driving north about 1 a.m. when he saw someone walking in the roadway, according to the Sheriff's Office. He swerved but struck the pedestrian with the car's right fender and passenger-side mirror.
The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was treated at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill for minor injuries. Schneider suffered minor injuries but did not require treatment.
