Largo woman dies in one-vehicle crash

LARGO — A Largo woman died Saturday night after veering off a road and into a ditch, striking a power pole, authorities said.

Monica E. Vieu, 62, died at the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol said. She was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

The crash occurred at 9:18 p.m. Saturday as Vieu was driving a 2007 Dodge Nitro west on 16th Avenue SE. Near the intersection of Twin Oak Drive, she left the roadway for some reason, overturned and hit a wooden pole.

The crash remained under investigation.
