Hillsborough deputies identify motorcyclist who died after striking median

TAMPA — Hillsborough deputies identified a 48-year-old motorcyclist who died after hitting a median and crashing early Sunday.

Eleazar Escorihuela of Riverview was driving west on Progress Boulevard about 12:30 a.m. on a 2008 Yamaha V-star motorcycle, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Escorihuela struck the median at the intersection with Magnolia Park and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he died.
