Hillsborough deputy injured in north Tampa crash Monday

TAMPA — A Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy was hospitalized after a north Tampa crash early Monday.

It happened about 3:30 a.m. at Waters Avenue and Anderson Road. The Sheriff's Office said the deputy was on his way to an emergency call, stopped at a traffic light, when another car hit him. That driver also was hospitalized.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Vida Morgan said injuries were minor.
