PORT RICHEY — A woman suffered serious injuries Thursday afternoon after her scooter collided with a dump truck, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Dawn M. Valentine, 48, of Hudson, was driving north on Little Road, approaching Embassy Boulevard, about 1:30 p.m., the FHP report said. She moved into the right turn lane at the same time a dump truck in that lane was turning into a driveway, FHP said. The front of the scooter crashed into the right side of the turning Mack truck.

Valentine was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where she is listed in stable condition. A passenger on the 2004 Honda scooter, 23-year-old Jeremy Valentine, had minor injuries.

Dump truck driver David Ingalls, 41, of Hudson and his passenger, Tom Paul, 47, of New Port Richey were not injured.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating to determine whether any charges will be filed.
