I-275 northbound crash in Tampa leaves one seriously injured

TAMPA — One person was seriously injured and others are being treated following a two-vehicle crash Friday on Interstate 275 northbound near Busch Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol received word of the accident just before 2 p.m. One northbound lane of I-275 and the Busch Boulevard exit ramp were temporarily closed, officials report.

Tampa Fire Rescue Capt. Bill Wade said one person, an adult male passenger traveling in a small red sedan, was taken by ambulance to Tampa General Hospital. Others were being treated for minor injuries.

Wade said the sedan crashed through a guard rail after colliding with a gray sport utility vehicle.
