TAMPA — A Tampa woman lost control of her car, slammed into the median and rolled off the road, critically injuring her and her passenger, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Tenisha S. Ramnath, 26, was driving north on Interstate 5 just north of State Road 60 when her Mitsubishi Outlander careened across the road and into the median about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the patrol said. The sport utility vehicle left the road, landed on its roof near railroad tracks below and then rolled back upright.
Ramnath and her passenger — Chandradaye Rampersad, 34, of Tampa — both suffered critical injuries and were taken to Tampa General Hospital, the patrol said.
Both were in critical condition Sunday morning, according to a hospital spokesman.
