TAMPA – An Indiana woman died early Saturday when she was hit by a car while walking on the Howard Frankland Bridge, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Lucindi Lane, 25, of Kendallville, Ind., was walking along the inside-lane shoulder of southbound Interstate 275 near mile marker 36 at 4:49 a.m. when she was hit by a driver heading in the same direction, trooper said. She died at the scene.
The driver, Angelina Jeffries, 18, of Port Charlotte, and a passenger were not injured. The incident remains under investigation, FHP said.
