WESLEY CHAPEL — All lanes on Overpass Road and southbound Interstate 75 in Pasco County were reopened Tuesday morning after a truck hit the overpass on Monday evening.

At about 5:15 p.m. Monday, a truck towing a crane near the 282 mile post struck Overpass Road, south of State Road 52, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The overpass and the northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for several hours while inspectors ensured the structure could hand traffic.

FHP said the damage appeared severe.

By 9 p.m., Overpass Road and the inside northbound lane of I-75 were back open, and the outside lane of I-75 was open on Tuesday morning.

Driver Aubrey Reed, 60, of Brownwood, Texas, was ticketed for an over-height load in his 2014 Peterbilt Truck, according to FHP.

Reed was not injured.
