Motorcyclist dies in Pasco collision

A motorcyclist died Friday evening after a car made a left turn in front of him at the intersection of Osprey Lane and State Road 54 in Pasco County, Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported.

Matthew R. Parrish, 28, of Land O'Lakes was riding his Suzuki motorcycle east on State Road 54 just before 6 p.m. As he approached the intersection, Carolyn Hilerio, 68, of Lutz was heading west and turned left in front of him, troopers said.

Parrish tried to swerve but hit the passenger side of Hilerio's Hyundai Sonata. Parrish, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene, troopers said. Hilerio was not injured. The crash was still under investigation Friday.
