A New Port Richey man died early Wednesday morning after he lost control of his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle and crashed into a curb and utility pole in New Port Richey, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Patrick Garret Grattan, 29, was traveling east in the outside lane of Ridge Road, just east of Airway Boulevard, when he lost control for unknown reasons, the FHP said.

Grattan hit the curb and continued onto the sidewalk and grass before slamming into a utility pole, the FHP said.

Grattan, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, the FHP said.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the FHP said.
